The content on this web page describes each of the source code files and each of the media files which comprise the website named Karlina Object dot WordPress dot Com and the website named Karbytes For Life Blog dot WordPress dot Com. Each of those aforementioned files is licensed by karbytes (a.k.a. Kar Beringer) as public domain intellectual property (which means that, according to karbytes, no entity is “legally” prohibited from accessing, possessing, modifying, or distributing copies of those files.

FILE: a named sequence of some natural number of binary digits which encodes a particular piece of information and can be stored inside of and transmitted between digital electronic computers.

Because a computer file is a precise finite ordered sequence of binary digits, that file can be verbatim copied between substrates indefinitely many times without any loss of the original file’s exact informational content (provided that the hardware involved in the copying and storage of each successive copy does not malfunction).

An example of a code file within this website is hosted at the following Uniform Resource Locator: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/karlinarayberinger/KARLINA_OBJECT_summer_2023_starter_pack/main/factorial.cpp

Within the context of the karbytes intellectual property collection, a code file encodes a complete and coherent set of instructions which a digital electronic computer can readily comprehend and execute and which is written in a particular programming language.

Within the context of the karbytes intellectual property collection, a media file is a file which is not a code file. A media file can take the form of a plain-text file, an image file, an audio file, a video file, et cetera.

INTELLECTUAL_PROPERTY: a collection of some natural number of files.

The term property refers to something which a person can own and control.

OPEN_SOURCE: a classification of intellectual property which specifies that the respective intellectual property is licensed by its original author as being open source (which means the following is assumed to be true):

(a) It is legal for any person to make (and to keep) indefinitely many unmodified (or modified) copies of the respective intellectual property.

(b) It is legal for any person to freely distribute or sell indefinitely many unmodified (or modified) copies of the respective intellectual property.

(c) It is legal for any person to edit indefinitely many unmodified (or modified) copies of the respective intellectual property.

(d) It is legal for any person to claim authorship of indefinitely many unmodified (or modified) copies of the respective intellectual property.

(e) Upon licensing a piece of intellectual property as “open source” and sharing that piece of intellectual property with the public, that piece of intellectual property is treated as being forever after its release “open source” intellectual property.

According to this particular definition of “open source”, logical contradictions can emerge as follows:

STEP_0: Person_A creates an original piece of intellectual property, X. // Initially, and by default, X is privately owned by Person_A. Therefore, only Person_A has "legal authority" over how X is shared with and used by persons other than Person_A (and Person_A is "legally authorized" to prohibit any person other than Person_A from accessing X).

STEP_1: Person_A decides to license X as PUBLIC_DOMAIN intellectual property. // At that point, X can be "legally" copied by any person and those copies can be "legally" treated as the private property of whoever makes or acquires those copies of X.

STEP_2: Person_B decides to make a copy of X and name that copy Y. // Initially, and by default, Y is privately owned by Person_B. Therefore, only Person_B has "legal authority" over how Y is shared with and used by persons other than Person_B (and Person_B is "legally authorized" to prohibit any person other than Person_B from accessing Y).

STEP_3: Person_B decides to license Y as private property and accuses Person_A's X as "illegally" copying Person_B's Y. // "Legally" speaking, Person_A is entitled to own, distribute, and assign an access level (i.e. intellectual property license) to each copy of X Person_A holds even though those copies of X appear to be identical to copies of Y because Person_A was an original creator of X. Also "legally" speaking, Person_B is "legally authorized" to require that people obtain Person_B's permission to make copies of Y. The point of this pseudocode snippet is to illustrate the futility of trying to enforce copyright laws (according to karbytes)! It is hence best (according to karbytes) to license one's own original intellectual property as PUBLIC_DOMAIN to ensure that such intellectual property is maximally accessible to information processing agents in general (which seems to be the ultimate purpose of creating and publishing intellectual property: to maximize the distribution and longevity of one's own created and/or published intellectual property).

PUBLIC_DOMAIN: open source intellectual property which is legally determined to be ownerless after a specific date and, forever after that date, part of the public World Wide Web.

karbytes (i.e. the person who originally authored this website (i.e. Kar Beringer)) has declared that every file within karbytes (i.e. the intellectual property encompassing all of Karlina Object dot WordPress dot Com and all of Karbytes For Life Blog dot WordPress dot Com) is open source immediately after that file is published on the public World Wide Web. To maximize the likelihood that each file of the respective websites is publicly accessible and immutably in the final draft form karbytes intended, karbytes saves that file routinely to the WayBack Machine (for the duration of karbytes’ functional lifespan).
